Fisheries Climatology: COADS
The task has also been involved in development of large environmental
database systems. These include a microcomputer based version of the
Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (COADS),
which is the most complete compilation of surface marine observations
available. The micro-computer based version of COADS is available on
6 CD-ROMs, along with a computer program,
CODE,
that can extract and
summarize the COADS data, and save the results in a variety of common
output formats for later analysis. A similar product is being developed
for the MOODS dataset, a compilation of the available subsurface marine
observations, and for the Release 1a of the COADS, an update for years
1980-1995.
